  • WHEN: 24/07/19
  • WHERE: National Archives of Ireland, Bishop Street, Dublin 8
  • TIME: 11:00 am

Why do archives digitise? The National Archives Digital Imaging Unit provides copies of all documents to the public. It also carries out preservation copying and creates high-quality surrogates of original documents.

This presentation as part of Culture Club on 24 July at 11am will look into the work of the Digital Imaging Unit and give an insight into why preservation copies are made, how archives are selected for digitisation and the methods used to make the copies.
