At Dublin City Council Culture Company, we collect, preserve, and maintain objects related to the mission statement and goals of the company.
Our collection includes the care of buildings (14 Henrietta Street and Richmond Barracks) and of objects, oral histories, archival material and research.
The collection is diverse and helps to create exhibitions and programmes that engage visitors for current or future use in interpreting the stories and histories of the City. The Culture Company will also develop cultural pieces/holdings through engagement activities which may be accessioned into the collection of its educational and placemaking community-based programmes including co-created artworks, photographs, documents, oral histories, and research.

Collections Management Policy
We have a Collections Management Policy in place which highlights our dedication to making, collecting, exhibiting, storing and maintaining collection items according to accepted professional standards.
The purpose of the Policy is to establish written guidelines for the conservation, acquisition, management, use, care, monitoring and preservation of buildings and collections owned or managed by the Culture Company. The Policy provides the overarching policy framework for the Culture Company to operate within.
The Culture Company also devises and implements site-specific Collection Management guidelines applicable to the conservation, management and care of collections for individual museums and cultural buildings as they arise. At 14 Henrietta Street, specifically, we strive towards the Museum Standards Programme for Ireland (MSPI) which guides our approach to the conservation, management, care and exhibition of the collection.
