As we collected information for the Dublin City Cultural Audit and Map – CULTURE NEAR YOU – we asked cultural organisations, groups and people, who were submitting information for the map, to tell us about the top things to do in their neighbourhoods.
We wanted to gather up some of the hidden – and also not so hidden! – cultural gems scattered around the city, and to get a sense of what city residents value as important cultural elements of their lives in Dublin.
(Read more about the Programme here.)
We’ve now got recommendations for the best things to do in many of the city’s neighbourhoods, top galleries, historic buildings and literary places, top places to shop, have coffee, eat and drink, and also some great recommendations on things to do for free, ways to connect with nature and the best places for a breath of fresh air. Basically all the recommendations you might need!
These wonderful and varied recommendations are now visible for everyone to read on www.dublincity.ie/culturenearyou, the public-facing website we’ve made that maps information about all kinds of cultural people, groups and places in city neighbourhoods: as well as stories that illuminate those places a bit more.
We hope you enjoy reading about them, and checking them out in person!
