The closure of Dublin City Council Culture Company’s public tours and buildings as a result of COVID-19 will be lifted on Wednesday 1st July 2020, with the reopening of 14 Henrietta Street and on Monday 6th July 2020 with the reopening of Richmond Barracks.
We would like to reassure you that we have been working hard to prepare for your safe return. We will be operating in line with Government guidelines and under strict health and safety protocols.
To ensure that social distancing and public health guidelines can be adhered to at all times we are reducing the capacity of people on our tours and in our buildings. Hand sanitiser stations will be available and there will be visible messages reinforcing social distancing, hand-hygiene, and coughing/sneezing etiquette. All Dublin City Council Culture Company personnel will have relevant health and safety training.
14 Henrietta Street
Public guided tours will commence at 14 Henrietta Street on Wednesday 1st July with tours running Wednesday to Sunday from 10am - 4pm.
In addition to individual visitor tickets, we are now introducing a private group tour ticket at 14 Henrietta Street. Designed for those who may feel safer and more comfortable by staying within their own family units or small groupings during their visit, our private tours are for small groups of up to eight people.
Richmond Barracks and gardens will reopen on Monday 6 July in a phased approach, opening six days a week, Monday to Saturday 10am - 5pm. The initial daily programme of events will include the historical tour of Richmond Barracks and a newly launched Richmond Barracks to Kilmainham Walking Tour and we will be hosting a creative workshop on site each day. The onsite cafe (operated by The Caterers) and rehoused Inchicore library (operated by Dublin City Libraries) will be reopening shortly, with more activities that can be enjoyed at a suitable social distance planned for the coming weeks too.
We advise all visitors booking guided tours at either location to book in advance via our websites or by phone as tour places are strictly limited to ensure safe social distancing. We will not be accepting cash on site, but card transactions will be facilitated.
Before your visit
Before booking a ticket to any of our public tours, please check that you are adhering to current Government travel restrictions, and if you are feeling unwell on the day of your visit or before coming to see us, we would ask that you stay at home for your own safety and that of our staff and other visitors.
Please note, all events scheduled as part of our other programmes, Culture Club, Tea & Chats, Culture Connects, The National Neighbourhood and Our City Our Books will remain online until further notice, and in person activities will begin to resume in the coming months in line with government guidelines.
