Dublin City Council Culture Company are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Carmichael Good Governance Awards 2020 (Best Governance Improvement Initiative) for our Universal Design and Accessibility Policy.
Now in its fifth year, the Good Governance Awards recognise adherence to good governance practice by non profit organisations in Ireland and has two award categories - Best Governance Improvement Initiative and Annual Report/Director’s Report & Financial Statements.
At Dublin City Council Culture Company, we see access for all as a basic human right that runs throughout our company values. We’ve put a framework in place to implement this in practical terms, with the whole team working together toward our goal of becoming a universally accessible organisation.
The principles of our Universal Design and Accessibility Policy are applied throughout our work, whether that’s running a building, an online programme, through our communications or in person interactions with our staff and publics.
We believe that this approach helps us ensure that our work is truly democratic and we are delighted to have made the shortlist for the 2020 Good Governance Awards.
You can read our Universal Design and Accessibility Policy in full here and find out more about the Good Governance Awards here.
The winners of the Good Governance Awards will be announced on 19th November 2020, at an online awards night event.
