Dublin City Council’s extremely popular ‘Winter Lights’ campaign returns this festive season with 17 locations around the city transformed with colourful projections and lighting displays to bring some hope and cheer to what has been a very difficult year.

Aoife McAtamney is a freelance choreographer, contemporary dancer and songwriter based in Dublin. She began teaching the Over 55s Movement Class in Richmond Barracks earlier this year and together they created a dance that formed the basis for the Winter Lights display on the Samuel Beckett Bridge this December. We’re delighted to share the news that five animated artworks from Dublin City Council's Winter Lights 2020 have won an Institute of Design in Ireland (IDI) Award 2021 in the Collaborative Design category.
Dublin has been shortlisted for the European Capital of Smart Tourism 2022 competition, alongside six other cities: Bordeaux (France), Florence (Italy), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Palma (Spain), Valencia (Spain) and Venice (Italy).
