About the Creative Residency in Art & Sport

We create partnerships to try out ideas, test new approaches and add to the cultural story of the city.

Our Creative Residency in Art and Sport creates opportunities for artists to work in residence across local sports clubs and Dublin City Council community sports and recreation centres.

Creative Residencies encourage makers and experts to pilot new partnerships with organisations. By bringing creative people and organisations together, and by connecting through culture and conversations, we will develop and share new ways of working.

Timmy Creed has been working with the members of Kevins GAA Club since January 2023, spending time learning about the club’s history and culture.

About Kevins GAA Club

Kevins are a G.A.A. club established in Dublin’s south inner city in 1902. The club primarily focuses on the sports of hurling and camogie, but also have healthy club activities such as walking groups, social hurling and rounders. The club also participates in scór and recently set up an adult choir. We cater for all ages and abilities. Our youngest group is the ABC Nursery catering for 4 years and up. We field teams at all ages up to adult and compete in hurling, camogie and more recently rounders.

The club has an unbroken affiliation to the G.A.A since it was established and has never moved from its catchment area. The South Circular Road and Grand Canal form the spine of the club's catchment area which includes surrounding areas such as Portobello, Rathmines, The Tenters, Donore Avenue, Harold’s Cross, The Liberties, Dolphin’s Barn and Rialto. Our home grounds are in Dolphin Park on the Crumlin Road in Dublin 12.
